This policy explains what information is collected when you take part in a QuiqVox session, how it is used, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
We do not ask for your name, email address or any account. There is no advertising and no tracking across other websites.
Our lawful bases are legitimate interests (running the session you have chosen to join and keeping the Service secure) and your consent, which you give by accepting before taking part. You can withdraw consent by not taking part; this does not affect processing that has already happened.
Responses are stored in the database of this website, which is operated by Kivein Ltd. Session results, including nicknames where provided, are visible to the presenter and may be displayed on screen to other participants during the session. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties, except with the session presenter or organiser as described above, with our hosting provider as necessary to run the website, or where required by law.
Responses are kept while the presenter needs them, for example to export results, and may be deleted when a session is reset or a presentation is removed. Server logs are retained for a short period in line with standard hosting practice.
The Service uses your browser's local storage to remember: your anonymous device token, your quiz nickname if you set one, and the fact that you accepted the Terms. These are functional only. No advertising or analytics cookies are set by the Service.
You have the right to ask for access to, correction or erasure of personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Because responses are collected anonymously, we may not be able to link a specific response to you unless you can identify it, for example by your quiz nickname.
Sessions may be used in schools, colleges and universities. We collect the minimum possible information and no account is required. Organisers are responsible for ensuring use with under 13s is appropriately supervised and consented.
