Plan my online shop

Free. About 3 minutes. No account needed.

An online shop is not a website with products on it. It is a checkout with a website attached. Almost every problem a new UK shop has traces back to photographs, delivery costs or a checkout that asks for one thing too many.

What matters most when you start an online shop

  • Photographs are your product page. White background, several angles, one in-use shot. Bad photographs lose more sales than high prices do.
  • Know your true delivery cost. Packaging, postage and the time to pack. “Free delivery” is only free once you have priced it in.
  • You must offer a 14-day cancellation right. Distance selling rules apply from your first order. Write the policy before you need it.
  • Abandoned basket emails pay for themselves. They are the highest-return email a shop ever sends, and most new shops never set them up.
  • Test your own checkout. On a phone. With a real card. Then fix whatever annoyed you — that is exactly what annoyed your customers.

Answer a few questions and QuiqStart will build a plan around what you sell, how you make it and how you ship it.
